halo extension care

How to take care of your Halo at home

Washing

-how often you wash your halo will depend on how often you wear it

-if worn more than once a week we suggest washing your halo every 3-4 weeks

-if worn once a week or less we recommend washing your halo every 2-3 months

-we recommend washing more often if using lots of styling products or wearing very frequently

-we recommend you wash more often if you are sweating in your halo or near heavy smoke or pollution

How To Wash Your Halo

-wash halo separate from your own hair

-wet halo in a downward direction gently with cool water

-halo should be completely wet before applying shampoo

-gently massage shampoo in a downward motion working from the root to the ends (direction of the cuticle)

-work shampoo into a lather, rinse and repeat

-rinse shampoo thoroughly out of halo. Your halo will try to hold on to shampoo and if left in the hair, it may become sticky

-squeeze excess water out of halo before applying your conditioner or moisturizing hair mask

-let conditioner/mask sit on hair for 5-15 minutes to ensure moisture is being retained

-rinse conditioner completely out of halo

-blot dry your halo

-never rub a towel up and down or side to side on the halo

-microfiber is recommended

-all products must be professional

-all products must be sulfate free and free of any keratin

Drying your halo

-to maintain your Halo it is strongly recommended to air dry

-this process can take up to 2 days

-after washing Halo should be treated with your professional leave in conditioner to provide extra moisture

-we recommend laying your halo on a towel for a few hours to get the extra moisture out and follow by hanging to fully dry

-we recommend clipping your halo to a towel rack or hanger to hang dry

-we recommend not hanging your halo piece by the wire

-once hair is dry you can use a blow dryer and brush to finish hair as you wish

-if you have to fully blow dry the hair we recommend using your cool air setting and hand drying until 90% dry. Then you may finish with your brush

-to get maximum life out of your halo we recommend fully air drying

Styling your halo

-halo should not need to be restyled often between washes unless choosing to change style

-style halo in desired manner

-always use professional products when styling halo

-heat protector should be applied before heat styling every time

-irons should not exceed 350* when heat styling halo

-we strongly recommend heat styling as little as possible to preserve halos life span

-using a serum on your Halo is encouraged to keep cuticle layer smooth and in tact

-when securing your halo piece avoid using tight elastics to maintain Halos lifespan

-Halo will not be able to be put up in a manner that is higher than the lace band

Wearing your halo

-Halo is strategically designed to lock into place when fit properly to your head

-your stylist will fit you at your appointment and show you how to properly place it

-each Halo comes inside its own box. The box contains your Halo piece, your own applicator comb deigned to help you install your halo seamlessly and an extra wire

-the wire is extremely durable. We encourage you to use your comb to properly instal your halo. that means combing over the wire and using the metal tail to free any hairs cuaght in the wire.

-the extra wire is provided to clients in the event of an emergency should you not be able to access your stylist

-your halo is sturdy and will not fall out if locked in place properly

-but we do not recommend cartwheels or backflips if wearing it. They are an excellent solution to your hair needs but not a permanent extension

-the wire fits into the hooks on both sides of the lace piece like a bra hook

-the hooks may be moved to fit your head properly

-keep in mind that the hooks should be locked in identically on both sides to maintain a proper fit

-guests will be show the proper fit at their appointment but sizing of the halo should be roughly around the occipital region of your head with enough room for 1-2 fingers to be slipped comfortably between the head and the piece

-if you wear your halo too tight or too loose you run the risk of it not being locked in properly

-each halo will be customized to blend in seamlessly to you

-as time goes on and wear occurs your halo piece may need to be re-customized
